Our latest webinar explored working with schools and school caterers to reduce sugar consumption in schools, from school meals to birthdays, special occasions and packed lunches. One in three children leave primary school overweight or obese, so this is a crucial period to support them to develop healthier eating habits that will serve them for the rest of their lives. This webinar shared brilliant examples from SUGAR SMART schools improving their school food culture to do just that.
SUGAR SMART Islington shared their sugar reduction pilot project with their school caterer, which led to a 50% reduction in sugar in their school meals.
SUGAR SMART Bath & North East Somerset showcased their work with local schools to tackle the prevalence of sugar beyond school meals - at holidays and special occasions, fundraisers and rewards structures.
