Sustainable Food Places

This year's Day of Celebration and Action will take place on Wednesday the 13th November. This is our occasion to convene in Parliament to showcase and celebrate the important work of our network, strengthen our relationships with our MPs and step into our roles as experts on issues that matter the most to their constituents. You can read more about last year's event here.

You will find the Comms pack here.

You will be invited to this event by email if you are a partnership coordinator.

Please refer to our "How to Engage with you MP" session recording:

Pre-Election candidate engagement

We are now producing an Elections Toolkit for the SFP network and other local food system actors to utilise in the coming weeks. This includes template questions to candidates and other resources to help you do this easily and effectively. We will be hosting a session on the Toolkit on Tuesday 11th of June, 2pm-3pm.

On the day we will provide coordinator with:

  • A Sustainable Food Places badge for you to wear on the day
  • Printed policy briefings to share with your MPs (it will be up to you to decide what is most important for you to share with them)
  • Printed assets to share with your MPs
  • Morning refreshments including pastries, fruit and hot drinks, as well as water
  • Lunch and networking at St James' Park Cafe

The order of the day will be:

  • The evening before on Tuesday 12th November at 6pm, we will be gathering at St Stephen's Tavern for an informal get-together and networking. This is very optional - you can join us if you like. Please note that this event will not be subsidised.
  • The morning of Wednesday 13th November, we will meet in front of Portcullis house in Westminster from 9am, to prepare to be let in just before 9:30am. From 9:30am - 11:30am we will have presentations, discussion, and then a chance to meet your MP over morning refreshments.
  • We will then make our way to St James' Park Cafe for lunch from 12pm - 2pm. Here we will be having a sit down lunch with plenty of time for group photos, networking, and sharing of ideas.

PLEASE NOTE - due to the recently called July 4th General Election, we have postponed this event until the 13th November.
