Following on from the highly successful #BacktoourRoots event in May, we are hosted a Celebration of Global Heritage Harvest across the UK on 12th:
Celebrate the harvest of global fruit and veg grown across the UK by community groups in this second network session run by Back to our Roots. The first Back to our Roots session explored the challenges and successes of growing fruit and vegetables that were representative of diverse communities. This follow-on networking session celebrates the harvest of all the varieties of global seeds that have been planted around the UK.
Special guest Catrina Fenton from the Heritage Seed Library held at Garden Organic will share details of the conservation work taking place. Protecting heirloom varieties of traditional British Veg as well as the fruit and veg from diaspora communities. Catrina will address the cultural and culinary importance of these heritage varieties, saving seeds and becoming a guardian, resources available at Garden Organic and of course the benefits of membership.
Carol and Tenesia will be sharing their growing journeys and how the Welsh climate has been particularly favourable to Callalu this year. Speakers will include Catrina Fenton , Head of the Heritage Seed Library, Garden Organic Carol Adams, the Director of Food Adventure Social Enterprise Ltd Tenesia Pascal, owner of Earth To Earth Organics
